This town remains largely untouched by modern technology, relying on traditional agricultural methods to grow food. Basic utilities, such as electricity and water, are often unreliable and can be shut off for days at a time. This way of life highlights the difficult reality that forced many to leave behind their homes, families, and culture in pursuit of greater opportunities—an experience that resonates with many Latinx people.
